On the last Friday of each month throughout 2026, we open some of our favourite and finest bottles to taste. For May, we are delighted to be pouring a brilliant English Rosé.

The heretics

The heretics is an independent English wine project founded by Gareth Maxwell and designer Jimmy Hunter, based in the United Kingdom with a focus on sites such as the Crouch Valley. It is where art, culture and wine meet, producing distinctive English wines with a modern, slightly rebellious edge.

The heretics Cantillon Rosé

Barrel-fermented in a mix of Damy puncheons and neutral barriques, inspired by Bandol, and built for people who think rosé can be serious. The label was designed by a young designer called Leah Cantillon, and the heretics named the wine after her. Come and try.
