A historic match made in heaven
Vintners Yard is a marriage of two great historic family stories. A brewery was first built on the site in 1865, with land bought from the London & Greenwich Railway. A family business, the Lovibond brewery helped define the measurement of colour in beer still used around the world today.
Just 5 years later in 1870, Francis Edwin Davy opened a ‘wine house’ just off the Strand, the establishment thrived, and more venues were soon opened growing the family’s portfolio. The illustrious Davy family took over the Greenwich premises in 1969 and now bring their 150 years of passion for delivering great food, service and exceptional wine to every corner of Vintners Yard.
Good times distilled
A smorgasbord of dining, drinking and games, Vintners Yard offers tons of fun all under one roof. The hub has grown rapidly to offer restaurants, bars, event spaces, bowling and escape rooms, as well as an incredible wine shop. A packed events calendar also brings expert wine tastings and cocktail classes as well as stunning live music plus films and sports screenings.
